Epic Games, the developers of the popular Battle Royale game Fortnite, recently revealed Fortnite Impostors, a new game mode similar to Among Us. Epic Games implemented this new mode as part of the game’s latest patch. It seems that Fortnite is looking to ride the sleeping hype of Among Us since the new mode looks suspiciously similar to the Innersloth game. This mode had already been leaked in a tweet from dataminers, who had believed a Fortnite x Among Us crossover. Finally, we have a new Fortnite game mode to enjoy with friends.
Fortnite Among Us: Trust nobody.
The Fortnite Impostors mode brings together a total of 10 players. Among them, 8 agents will try to ensure the smooth functioning of the base. But among them are 2 impostors who will do their best to eliminate the agents and sabotage their efforts. As for the agents, they will have to do everything to achieve their goals. Unfortunately, the impostors will constantly try to sabotage any way of success and take control of the game. Don’t forget, trust nobody.
Agents
Agents must complete tasks such as calibrating chests and llamas, repairing the Battle Bus, submitting storm reports, etc. Their goal is to complete all of the assignments given to them or eliminate the impostors, which will result in the agents victory. In order to win, agents must be on the lookout for suspicious activity. If someone tries to pretend to be an agent, the impostors must be found and eliminated as quickly as possible via the Meeting phase.
Impostors
Impostors received the necessary equipment to sabotage and take control of the base. Their goal is to eliminate as many agents as possible, while hiding their true nature. To avoid being eliminated, the impostors have a variety of tools at their disposal, such as disabling all missions, teleport agents from one place to another in order to disorient them, or transform everybody into Peely the banana. This transformation also has the effect of hiding the identity of all players and is the perfect time to attack. Impostors will also have a list of missions to complete in order to blend in with the agents and avoid revealing themselves. However, each mission completed by the impostors will bring the agents closer to completing their mission.
Meeting phase – Fortnite Impostors
Persuasion and manipulation is at the heart of Fortnite Impostors’ gameplay! Agents and impostors can call meetings to discuss and find out if a colleague has been eliminated or report any suspicious activity they have witnessed. Meetings can be called either by reporting the fragment of an eliminated agent or by selecting the chat panel in the central room. During the meeting, agents can discuss information using emotes and a quick chat menu, and charge suspicious agents, in order to eliminate them. However, as for Among Us, the game reveals its full flavor in vocal on Discord. At the end of the chat, agents and impostors will be asked to select someone to eject. However, the more agents are eliminated, the closer the impostors are to victory. It is therefore crucial to choose wisely, before voting for someone.
Fortnite Impostors is a shameless copy of Among Us?
The Epic Games studio has built its success on copying others and bringing its own vision. Indeed, its Battle Royale mode or PropHunt mode were already plagiarized from other game modes. The gameplay and concepts are very similar to Among Us. But the dynamic features and the 3D view will certainly spice up our games. Although the new mode is similar to Among Us, fans of the game are certainly excited about this new mode. It seems that it will be as popular as the game it is based on.
